Company History/philosophy
Corrective Exercise Australia’s story is one of an evolution and realisation of a dream. As the new millenium became a reality and the world and its computers shrugged off the doom scenarios, Max Martin and Nathan Harten were pondering what to do with all the education, information and resources they had available to them after finishing Exercise and Sports Science degrees and further study. With the options to either continue down a purely academic path, or to enter the private sector,
the opportunity to impact individuals on a one-on-one basis and on a daily basis was by far the most exciting one.
Once having made this decision, we started to give this new venture some shape. At its foundation were core values that we both determined were the non-negotiable qualities that we would want in our ‘ideal jobs’. Then, as a driving vision was a desire to ‘translate’ the information we had access to for the benefit of the wider community, but also for the fitness and exercise industries that tend to be by nature more practically driven.
To cut a long (but very rewarding) story short, iNform Health and Fitness Solutions was birthed and nurtured! After six years of extensive research reviews, consultation and collaboration with numerous high quality health and medical practitioners, and from our clinical and practical application with ‘real-life’ private clients we felt that we had developed sound exercise prescription and assessment techniques (which are always being refined as we continue our own learning journey!). This ensures that participants receive technically accurate information that is useful across most exercise/fitness/therapy settings.
We developed a teaching format for this information by having trained all of iNform’s trainers in these techniques and by delivering this information to University (Exercise Science) and Vocation course (Certificates in fitness and Personal Training) students. In response to being asked inumerable times how people could get further access to our training information, we felt that we were finally at a position to fulfil our second foundational goal (the sharing of our information to help the development of our industry). This led to us establishing the iNform Academy at the beginning of 2009 as our ‘teaching arm’. After two years of delivering workshops to our industry in a number of different formats we felt that a re-branding exercise was needed to allow this new and exciting venture to have its own personality, and so
the commencement of 2011 saw the launch of Corrective Exercise Australia!
We are truly excited about the opportunity to continue to share this journey with you, be it through this social media format, or by sharing with you our resources at a workshop or conference!
Hope to meet you soon!
